Are Gen Zs and millennials in Singapore happy with their pay?

This data story highlights how Gen Z and millennial workers in Singapore feel about their pay, using survey data from over 1,000 respondents aged 18 to 35. Commissioned by The Straits Times in collaboration with Kantar, the piece visualizes income expectations, salary satisfaction, and evolving work values across demographic groups.

Design Decisions Made

Color palette and typography were carefully chosen to resonate with a younger audience, enhancing engagement and comprehension. The interactive elements allow readers to explore the data in depth, making the insights more relatable and actionable.

The project presents clear, scroll-driven visualizations that highlight generational attitudes toward money, job flexibility, and personal well-being. It combines storytelling and data to shed light on how young professionals navigate career decisions of what today’s workforce really wants.
